How We Use AI
Engineering AssistanceAI helps us write boilerplate code, accelerate development, review new features, and catch bugs so we can spend more time gathering feedback and building the things that matter.
Content CreationWe use AI to help draft marketing content, brainstorm ideas, proofread documentation, and create promotional assets.
Platform SafetyAI assists us in detecting spam, fraud, abusive behavior, and other malicious activity to help keep the community safe.
DisclosureWhenever we use AI-generated imagery or artwork in promotional materials, we'll disclose it by including a small watermark in the top-right corner of the image.Example Watermark

There are a few lines we simply won't ski.
Behavioral ProfilingWe do not use AI to build invasive behavioral profiles or complex datasets about our members.
Direct CommunicationWe do not rely on AI to communicate directly with you. When you receive an email, support response, or important communication from us, it's written by an actual gnarly human. AI may help us proofread or improve our writing, but it doesn't replace the rad person behind it.
AI TrainingWe will never provide, sell, or share your personal data or communications with third parties for the purpose of training AI models. Ever. We think your data belongs to you, and using it to train someone else's AI without your consent simply isn't how we roll.
A Request to Our Community
We are quite tickled seeing what people create with AI. It's fantastic for brainstorming ideas, mocking up a logo, meme-ing into the void, or getting past that dreaded blank page.
But we'd also ask everyone to use it thoughtfully.
GnarShare exists to help people meet up, get outside, shred powder, ride bikes, summit rocks, conquer rivers, and create real memories with real people. We value authentic experiences and genuine personalities over perfectly polished AI-generated bullshit.
Use AI as a ToolUse AI as a tool—not a substitute for yourself.
Keep it HumanHelp us keep the platform interesting, personal, and free from low-effort AI slop. We'd much rather see your jacked-up content than something that looks perfect but says nothing about who you are.
After all, the goal is to spend less time talking to the robot overlords and more time in the mountains.
